Out Couch Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy offers closed process groups focused on specific community challenges and collective traumas that may be impacting your quality of life. Group therapy may offer you opportunities for growth and insight that are different than individual therapy. This can also be a more affordable option to weekly one-on-one sessions. Working with a group of people can help you create a sense of universality and hope, and share knowledge and information with others about the issues your group is focused in. Learning to consider others’ experiences, express yourself more confidently, and manage potential conflict in new ways can create new understandings of difficult experiences you may have had earlier in life. Our current group offerings are listed below.

Bi/Pan Women’s Therapy Group

Leigh Huggins, MA, AMFT provides an inclusive and accepting space in Pasadena for you to come together with other women who have similar experiences to you, where you can start unlearning the internalized misogyny and bi/panphobia that has prevented you from truly accepting yourself. Transgender Parents Therapy Group

Mary “Mars” McRae, MA is starting an online therapy group for transgender parents to come together to discuss the challenges of parenting as a transgender or nonbinary person. This group offers a supportive and inclusive space for transgender parents to come together, share experiences, and explore the intersection of gender identity and parenthood.
